SUMMARY:Hispanic Heritage - Tiempo de Celebrar - (Richmond)
DESCRIPTION:On September 20\, the Fort Bend Museum will host our 3rd annual Tiempo de Celebrar event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage.\n\n\n\nThis event will be held at our museum and is free and open to the public. Community members will be invited to enjoy music\, food\, and art to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The event will feature artwork submitted by Fort Bend County residents showcasing what Hispanic Heritage means to them.\n\n\n\nAfter our event on September 20th\, the artwork submitted and selected by a panel of judges will continue to be on display in the museum throughout September and October. In addition to individual submissions from community members\, the exhibit will also feature a mural created by Lamar Consolidated High School students\, with their unique interpretation of the famous Diego Rivera mural\, “Sueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Central.” Please see the work in progress by the students in the attachments section!\n\nAt the event\, we plan to highlight the artwork and invite the community to the museum to enjoy.

Immerse yourself in the sounds and sights of Mexico with this group of mariachis and ballet folklorico dancers. \nJoin our emcee for the night\, Ana Bueno environmental reporter from Univision\, to celebrate the beauty of Mexican culture with the international touring company México en el Corazón. With more than 70 performers\, the evening promises a spectacular showcase of traditional Mexican dance\, ballet folklorico\, regional costuming\, indigenous traditions and more. \nWe recommend arriving early to secure your seat. The seating area directly in front of the stage is limited to 1500 visitors on a first-come\, first-serve basis.Additional screens will be set up on the Jones Lawn to accommodate a larger audience. \nAdditionally\, attendees will also enjoy a special Flea by Night presented by Green Mountain Energy\, a curated market featuring Latin food and vendors throughout the park. \nThe tour is presented by the North American Institute for Mexican Advancement.
