SUMMARY:Dallas Museum of Art (DMA): Black History Celebration
DESCRIPTION:DMA will host its inaugural two-day “DMA Black History and Culture Community Weekend Celebration\,” which is scheduled for the first weekend of Black History Month (February 1 to 2\, 2025). This event aims to honor the Black community by providing a platform for education\, engagement\, celebration\, and empowerment showcasing their rich history\, culture\, and contributions to North Texas.\n \nWorking with an advisory group of active and engaged community leaders\, the DMA will provide a two-day program that will involve local community partners\, artists\, performers\, educators\, vendors\, and businesses that reflect the diverse cultural heritage of the Black community and ensure the program’s transformative impact and authenticity. The DMA will offer a variety of community-focused programs\, including an artist talk or panel\, cultural performances\, and family-friendly art-making activities. During this weekend\, the DMA will also feature Community Days to provide free admission to all ticketed exhibitions.
