A tale of two Texans, both exiles from their respective and vastly different religious upbringings – Fundamentalist Christianity and Orthodox Judaism. An unlikely pairing? Maybe. But then they share many unexpected commonalities as well. Composer Mark Bueller and poet Leah Lax challenge the rules and expectations of their strict religious pasts and the result is a recently premiered Mass in Exile and the world premiere of Requiem in the Light. Immerse yourself in music of deep lyricism, bold gestures and striking rhythms.
