Please celebrate with us as a community for the La Fiesta Del Sol: Celebration of the Sun annular solar eclipse event on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Scobee Education Center and our community of partners are located on the west side of the San Antonio College campus.
Sponsored partly by the NASA community anchor grant and the Boeing Company grant, we will have guest speakers, live music, activities for youngsters, solar-filtered telescopes for public viewing, food trucks, and much more! Free solar filter glasses will be available for families while supplies last!
About the Event
The San Antonio region will experience two solar eclipse events within the next ten months. Celebrate with us as we provide a festival atmosphere for the annular or “Ring of Fire” eclipse on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at the west side of the San Antonio College campus immediately surrounding the Scobee Education Center. Sponsored in part by the NASA Community Anchor Grant and the Boeing Company, the general event will be free to the community, with speakers, bands, food trucks, and community vendors providing products and services across campus. Free solar filter glasses will be available for families while supplies last. VIP tickets will be available to access the Scalan observatory and 2nd-floor amenities.
