Memorial Park Conservancy invites the community to celebrate Lunar New Year during Live at Live Oak Series, presented by H-E-B on February 21 from 4-6 PM. This FREE live concert is part of a music series dedicated to different cultural holidays, highlighting the rich diversity of our community.

Set in Live Oak Court at the Clay Family Eastern Glades, these free concerts bring music, dance, and joy together to celebrate unique cultural traditions. Guests can enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, food, drinks, and more.
Guests can expect an upbeat, interactive show that celebrates Lunar New Year through music and dance, with live performances by Unity Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe and Mika’s Yoyos. Unity Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe is a Houston-based nonprofit that celebrates dragon and lion dance and martial arts traditions through high-energy performances that honor culture, community, and heritage. Mika Chang (with Mika’s Yoyos) is an 18-year-old professional Chinese yo-yo (diabolo) performer and Rice University student who brings dynamic, family-friendly performances rooted in cultural tradition. Based in Houston, her shows blend skill, creativity, and heritage, adding a vibrant and memorable element to community and cultural celebrations

FAQ/Know Before You Go

Outside food and drinks are permitted, but no glass containers are permitted. Seating will be limited at the event, so guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets and lawn chairs. The event takes place in Live Oak Court at the Clay Family Eastern Glades. Paid parking is available, at $2 for 3 hours, in the lots near the venue. Free parking is available along the street. Refer to the Memorial Park parking map for more parking options.
