The Heart of H-E-B, Our Partners
H-E-B is a people company and our Partners are at the heart of our business. We take the best care of our Partners and their families, so they can take care of our customers and our communities.
In addition to our already strict sanitation and hygiene protocols, H-E-B has taken extreme measures to heighten the frequency and awareness of sanitation and hygiene in our stores. Partners handwashing as often as possible and stores have hand sanitizer available at every point of sale for our customers and Partners. Stores are deep cleaned every day and Partners are given daily training and education on elevated sanitation protocols.
Also, H-E-B has implemented social distancing procedures across our business. Social distancing is an effective way to slow the spread and reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus. H-E-B is actively eliminating physical contact touch points and promoting that customers and Partners are proper distance between each other. H-E-B has store Partners who are trained to ensure sanitation and social distancing programs are properly followed. Our Partners stand committed to helping Texas slow the spread.
Texas Proud Pay
We are proud to announce that all hourly store, manufacturing, warehouse and transportation Partners will receive $2/hour Texas Proud Pay effective Monday March 16 through Sunday April 12 to recognize their hard work and thank them for their commitment as they help serve our customers and communities.
Texans rely on H-E-B and we rely on our great Partners. We understand it is our responsibility to provide essential services to our customers during a time when so many other businesses have not been able to stay open or have had to scale back operations significantly.
Beyond additional pay, we’re going that extra mile for Partners across our business. At our warehouse facilities, our H-E-B culinary team provides daily lunches, serving nearly 50,000 chef-prepared meals each week to our hard-working warehouse Partners.
H-E-B Partners come together during times of crisis to take care of each other and our Customers. This is the Spirit of H-E-B.
We Invest in Our Partners
At H-E-B, the majority of our Partners earn paid time off and sick leave. We have also extended medical leave to all Partners and in the event that one of our Partners is diagnosed with coronavirus, they will receive pay. Our robust emergency preparedness plan focuses on what we do best, serving our customers while prioritizing the wellness of our Partners and their families.
All H-E-B Partners are equipped daily with the best information on the coronavirus so that they can make the best decisions for their families. This includes free access to expert healthcare professionals available online and on phone to address health concerns. If Partners are feeling ill, we encourage them to stay home and take the best care of themselves.
To support our customers and those Texans displaced from work due to the conronavirus, we’re currently hiring short-term support for our stores. With your help, our customers can get what they need for their families while receiving the excellent customer service they are accustomed to. We also are extending this opportunity to those in the restaurant, bar, nightclub, travel and other industries who may be out of work due to business closures from coronavirus concerns.
These short term job opportunities may last anywhere between 30-60 days. And if you love working for us, we’ll help direct you to our full time application process once the short term opportunity ends.
Also, thank you, Texas, for the outpouring of interest to help H-E-B as this time. We have received over 17,000 applications over the past two days and requests to volunteer to help! While we do not have a volunteer program at this time here are some ways you can help us the most:
- When you pull a product off the shelf, pull the next item forward
- Bag your own groceries
- Throw away trash in cart
- Return cart to front of store not in the corral
- Be kind to your neighbor
Texans helping Texans, that’s the H-E-B way.
