On September 20, the Fort Bend Museum will host our 3rd annual Tiempo de Celebrar event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage.
This event will be held at our museum and is free and open to the public. Community members will be invited to enjoy music, food, and art to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The event will feature artwork submitted by Fort Bend County residents showcasing what Hispanic Heritage means to them.
After our event on September 20th, the artwork submitted and selected by a panel of judges will continue to be on display in the museum throughout September and October. In addition to individual submissions from community members, the exhibit will also feature a mural created by Lamar Consolidated High School students, with their unique interpretation of the famous Diego Rivera mural, “Sueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Central.” Please see the work in progress by the students in the attachments section!
At the event, we plan to highlight the artwork and invite the community to the museum to enjoy.
