Filled with fresh, made-in-store items, the food service area includes café, deli, bakery, chef-prepared case, sushi, and more
Filled with excitement and energy from its Partners and customers, Broadway Central Market has reached its newest milestone, celebrating the opening of its fully renovated food service area.
Across the remodeled section of the store, customers will find selections from departments such as deli, bakery, sushi, and chef-prepared food cases. With a welcoming layout that enhances the shopping experience, each department throughout the section has new fixtures and equipment and expanded production areas to showcase the culinary expertise and talent of Central Market Partners.

“We are eager to start introducing pieces of what’s coming, and today, we opened what I believe to be the most exciting parts of the store,” said Katherine Miller, Broadway Central Market Food Service Director. “This new space provides a renewed culinary experience for our customers and Partners and a place where we can connect and celebrate with our community.”

In the bakery, customers will find an artisan bread wall, fresh, made in-house tortillas, and pastry service. The deli department will offer sliced meats, an expanded assortment of cheeses, and self-serve Mediterranean and olive bar. The area also will showcase a range of culinary treats such as sushi, rice and noodle bowls, full-size salad bar, newly developed burger and sandwich program, hot soup bar, and customer favorites from the chef-prepared foods case filled with seasonal offerings. There also are grab-and-go options such as breakfast tacos, salads, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks.
The food service area is joined by the store’s café, which offers Central Market-roasted coffee, fresh-made smoothies, and gelato that’s made in house. The newly renovated café opened earlier this spring. Additionally, there’s an expanded dining area with ample indoor seating and multiple self-checkout registers for convenience.
Originally situated across the center of the store, the café and food service area was relocated to the northern end and is easily accessible through the Café entrance.
Along with this most recent unveiling, other already completed areas include pharmacy with drive-thru, Curbside area, parking lot with additional parking spaces, new sidewalks and pedestrian paths, Partner break rooms, administrative offices, and loading dock. Part of the store’s façade also has been completed.
For now, the major renovation will continue to other areas of the store. The store’s front end, which will include updated checkout lanes and floral department, is currently under construction and is set to open this fall. After that, updated meat market and seafood areas will be next to open.
The full renovation is set to be completed in 2027. More details will be shared as the project develops.
