Today, H-E-B deployed its H-E-B Mobile Kitchen to Sargent, Texas, a Gulf Coast community severely impacted by Hurricane Beryl. To support area residents and first responders, the H-E-B Mobile Kitchen will serve hot meals starting this weekend.
From Saturday through Monday, the H-E-B Mobile Kitchen will serve meals in the Matagorda County town about an hour south of Houston, which was hard hit by the recent hurricane. The Mobile Kitchens will stage at First Baptist Church of Sargent, and hot meals will be served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the following times:
Breakfast: 8 – 10 a.m.
Lunch: 12 – 2 p.m.
Dinner: 4 -6 p.m.
First Baptist Church of Sargent
53 County Road #283, Sargent, TX 77414
Over the course of three days, more than 21,500 hot meals will be served. Media outlets are invited to the meal distributions where they can capture photos and video and conduct interviews with H-E-B personnel.
H-E-B also supplied a trailer load each of water and ice to support relief efforts around Matagorda Bay.
Over the last few days, H-E-B has provided support to nonprofits and other areas impacted by the storm, including Houston, Wharton, El Campo, and Bay City, where the company helped with cooling centers, water, ice, and snacks. Additionally, before the storm H-E-B provided water and other supplies to area food banks to support their relief effort in impacted communities.
H-E-B will continue to stay close with its nonprofit partners and local municipalities to assess future needs throughout the recovery. Providing aid in times of need is at the heart of H-E-B’s Helping Here philosophy, which promises to support communities during times of crisis.
