H-E-B donates San Antonio Commanders tickets to service members

As the San Antonio Commanders gear up to kick off their season, H-E-B will show its appreciation for our military personnel with tickets to the gridiron.

H-E-B, in partnership with the United Services Organizations (USO), donated 5,000 tickets active-duty and retired military members in the San Antonio area for the San Antonio Commanders’ inaugural game.

The USO assisted in distributing tickets to students currently in training at Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph AFB as well as to active-duty military throughout Joint Base San Antonio.

“H-E-B is proud to team up with the USO throughout the year in support of our military. We are honored to show our appreciation to our brave service members by giving them a chance to catch the Commanders kick off their season in the Alamo City,” said Cory Basso, H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing & Advertising.

H-E-B is the presenting partner of the Commanders’ first game, which is against the San Diego Fleet at the Alamodome on February 9.

“This is another great example of H-E-B being an active member of the greater San Antonio community and a corporate partner that does not shy away from social responsibility,” said Commanders team president Vic Gregovits. “For active duty military members in San Antonio, this an opportunity to enjoy a Commanders game. We are thankful to H-E-B for providing such hospitality here in Military City USA.”

Throughout the year, H-E-B shows its support of the military through H‑E‑B Operation Appreciation, a companywide campaign that honors the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. H-E-B’s Operation Appreciation partners with organizations that support U.S. troops and their families. Contributing time, talent and financial support, H‑E‑B recognizes and appreciates the dedication and sacrifices service members make on behalf of the nation.
