H-E-B offers discount on frozen foods and provides community support to help with recovery from Hurricane Beryl

As Texans in Houston and along the Gulf Coast recover following Hurricane Beryl, H-E-B continues to give much-needed support to hard-hit communities and will provide some relief in the form of discounts on frozen food items at the register.

Starting Sunday at H-E-B stores in Houston and surrounding areas (Golden Triangle, East Texas, Bryan/College Station/Brenham) and select locations along the Gulf Coast (Bay City, El Campo, Edna, Wharton), customers can save 10 percent on all frozen food items, including ice. The discount will automatically be applied to eligible items at the register and only applies to purchases made in store from Sunday, July 14 through Sunday, July 21.

“At H-E-B, we’re committed to supporting our communities in times of need. Texans across the Houston area and the Gulf Coast were hardest hit by the storm and have been without power for several days,” said Armando Perez, H-E-B Executive Vice President of Houston Food Drug. “We’re in this together with our neighbors, and this discount is a way for us to lend a hand as people begin to regain power and restock their freezers.”

Over the last few days, H-E-B has provided support to nonprofits and other areas impacted by the storm, including Houston, Wharton, Kingwood, Lake Jackson, and Bay City where the company helped with cooling centers, water, ice, snacks, and other supplies. H-E-B made an additional donation to include eight truckloads of ice to support Houston. Before the hurricane made landfall, H-E-B provided water and other supplies to area food banks to support their relief effort in impacted communities.

Additionally, H-E-B deployed its H-E-B Mobile Kitchen to Sargent, Texas, a Gulf Coast community severely impacted by Hurricane Beryl. To support area residents and first responders, the H-E-B Mobile Kitchen will serve up to 21,500 hot meals. H-E-B also sent a trailer load each of water and ice, to support relief efforts around Matagorda Bay.

Providing aid in times of need is at the heart of H-E-B’s Helping Here philosophy, which promises to support communities during times of crisis. H-E-B will continue to stay close with its nonprofit partners and local municipalities to assess future needs throughout the recovery.
