The 139,000-square-foot store becomes the 11th H-E-B location to open in the DFW Metroplex
H-E-B officially opened its Forney H-E-B store, making it the 11th H-E-B location the retailer has opened in the DFW Metroplex. The 139,000-square-foot Forney H-E-B joins 10 other H-E-B stores and three Joe V’s Smart Shop locations the retailer has opened in the area since 2022. H-E-B also operates six Central Market locations throughout north Texas.
The new store is at 11700 E. US Hwy 80, which is located at U.S. 80 and Gateway Blvd. in Kaufman County, east of Dallas. The store is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Inside and out, the new store reflects the unique character of the Forney community. The store design also emphasizes environmental sustainability, incorporating several energy efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting.

Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H-E-B is dedicated to its customers beyond its stores. H-E-B commemorated the store’s grand opening with donations totaling $20,000 to local nonprofits. Two gifts of $10,000 each supported Bee Happy, a nonprofit that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and gives them an opportunity to thrive within their community, and Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County, an organization that supports children and families impacted by abuse.
In the DFW area, H-E-B has opened H-E-B stores in Plano, McKinney, Allen, Alliance, Mansfield, Melissa, Prosper, Rockwall, and two stores in Frisco. Additionally, H-E-B has officially announced plans for stores in Irving, Murphy, Mid-Cities, Walsh Ranch, Hillcrest, Carrollton, and Denton. Last year, the retailer also purchased land in Dallas at Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway, a site being considered for the company’s first H-E-B store in the city of Dallas. The retailer also has opened three Joe V’s Smart Shop stores in the DFW area, which include two in Dallas and one store in Irving.
