H-E-B Partners honor emergency personnel across Texas on 9/11

On September 11, more than 4,500 H-E-B Partners (employees) from across Texas will volunteer at their neighborhood fire stations during H-E-B’s company-wide Helping Heroes day of service. For 14 years, H-E-B’s Helping Heroes project honors brave Texas first responders for their selfless dedication and steadfast service to our communities. This annual program is part of H-E-B’s ongoing support for emergency personnel throughout the more than 300 communities we serve.

On this day of service, Partners will prepare meals and provide other means of support to their local fire stations. This year, H-E-B will adopt 725 fire stations statewide, including 266 in Houston, 175 in Central Texas and 137 in San Antonio and West Texas.

“For 14 years, Helping Heroes gives our Partners a chance to give back to the courageous first responders who dedicate their lives to our communities,” said Winell Herron, H-E-B Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs. “This annual program is an essential part of our ongoing commitment of giving back to the communities we serve.”

Helping Heroes provides a meaningful way for H-E-B Partners to acknowledge and support first responders. This community service project recognizes September 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, paying tribute to the emergency personnel who risked and lost their lives during the World Trade Center attack.
