Customers explored store departments, enjoyed samples and completed “H-E-B Passports,” helping generate donations for local schools
H-E-B hosted a Passport Giveback Event at select stores throughout Williamson County, inviting customers to explore their local H-E-B while supporting public schools. In a surprise boost for participating schools, H-E-B matched the funds raised during the event, bringing the total donation to $14,000 benefiting seven Central Texas schools.
During the event, guests at participating H-E-B locations received an “H-E-B Passport” featuring destinations throughout the store, including Bakery, Beauty, Deli, Grocery, Healthy Living, Meat Market, Produce, and Seafood departments. As guests “traveled” to each department, they enjoyed exclusive samples and collected passport stamps along the way. For every completed passport returned to the store, H-E-B donated $10, up to $1,000 per store across participating locations.

Proceeds supported the following schools: Bagdad Elementary School, Benold Middle School, Camacho Elementary School, Florence High School, Plain Elementary School, Rancho Sienna Elementary School, and Santa Rita Middle School. The first 100 participants at each location also received an H-E-B tote bag filled with goodies and giveaways.
Students from Florence High School also helped bring the event to life at the Parmer Ranch H-E-B in Georgetown with a performance by the Florence High School Band, along with appearances from cheerleaders, the school’s color guard, and H-E-Buddy. The interactive, self-guided event encouraged families to explore departments throughout the store while directly supporting their local schools.
“H-E-B is proud to support Texas public schools and the communities we serve,” said Johnny Mojica, Public Affairs Manager for H-E-B. “The Passport Giveback Event gives customers and families a fun way to explore their local store while helping raise funds for local schools, students, and educators.”
Giving back to Texas communities has long been a founding pillar of H-E-B, with education remaining a key focus of the company’s community investment efforts. Through initiatives like the Passport Giveback Event, H-E-B continues to partner with local schools and organizations across Central Texas to support the next generation of Texans.
