H-E-B response to Austin water boil notice

UPDATED 10/24 4:30 P.m.

Since Austin’s water boil notice was announced, H-E-B has delivered more than 300 truckloads of water to Austin-area stores. Currently, all Austin H-E-B stores are stocked with water and we will continue to supply them as needed.

On Wednesday night, H-E-B donated 15 truckloads of water to several area non-profit organizations and schools.

Additionally, continuing with disaster relief efforts in Central Texas, H-E-B started distributing cleaning supplies on Wednesday at the Kingsland Community Center in Kingsland. More than 1,000 cleaning kits, which are filled with items such as paper towels, trash bags and cleaning solution, will be distributed through 6 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, H-E-B will hold another distribution of cleaning supplies in Kingsland, starting at 8 a.m.

In time for school tomorrow, H-E-B donated 650 cases or nearly 2,600 gallons of water to Austin-area schools. We’re actively working with our Austin-area schools to secure plenty of clean water for our children in school.

Since Austin’s water boil notice was announced, H-E-B has delivered more than 275 truckloads of water to Austin-area stores, which equates to over 4,000 pallets of water. To support the needs of our customers, we will continue to supply our communities and stores with water as needed.

Additionally, to continue with disaster relief efforts in Central Texas, H-E-B will distribute cleaning supplies on Wednesday morning at the Kingsland Community Center in Kingsland.

H-E-B’s top priority is making sure our stores are functional and that supply is strong to support the needs of our customers. Once we were notified of the Austin water boil notice, we began sending additional water to Austin stores with plans to send more than 100 trailers of water today and will continue to as needed.
