H-E-B to support more than 60 Independence Day celebration events across Texas
Beginning this Forth of July, Texans can nominate active-duty military service members serving our nation away from home for a chance to receive a free care package filled with H-E-B favorites.
Nominations, which will be accepted until 2,000 are received, can be submitted by filling out the form available at heb.com/militarycarepackages. Each care package will include several H-E-B brand products as well as a handwritten personal thank you message from H-E-B Partners from across the company.
“H-E-B is profoundly grateful for the selfless sacrifice of America’s military heroes, and what better way to honor those who protect the freedoms we celebrate on Independence Day than to send them a taste of home,” said Johnny Mojica, H-E-B Public Affairs Manager.
H-E-B stores and work locations have also partnered with cities, towns, and municipalities across the state to support more than 60 Independence Day celebrations, parades, and fireworks shows. A list of select celebrations that H-E-B is sponsoring can be found at heb.com/newsroom.
Since 2013, H-E-B, through its Operation Appreciation Homes Built for Heroes program, along with the H-E-B Tournament of Champions Charitable Trust, has dedicated 55 mortgage-free, specially-adapted and fully-furnished homes to severely wounded Veterans. Throughout the years, H-E-B and the charitable trust have partnered with organizations such as the Gary Sinise Foundation, Homes for Our Troops, and Operation Finally Home to build these transformational homes across Texas.
H-E-B has been named a top workplace for military Veterans and was recognized by Forbes as a top employer for Veterans. Through H-E-B Operation Appreciation, H-E-B has hired more than 29,000 Veterans and military spouses since 2014.
