Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B officially broke ground on its second location in Dallas, continuing the proud H-E-B brand’s expansion beyond the Houston area and into the DFW Metroplex.

H-E-B, a San Antonio-based multi-format retailer, announced plans last year to build a Joe V’s Smart Shop at the corner of Buckner Blvd. and Samuell Blvd. at 5204 S. Buckner Blvd. The store is expected to open in spring 2025.

Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B is an innovative price format that delivers a uniquely curated assortment of community focused products, and the most relevant, high-quality, fresh products H-E-B is known for at even lower prices. The brand is committed to delivering the lowest prices in the marketplace with the highest quality fresh products for its customers, also fondly known as Smart Shoppers.

At Joe V’s Smart Shop, customers will find many of the same high-quality items and fresh products H-E-B is known for including:

  • Large produce department with Texas-grown selections delivered daily and a wide assortment of fresh-cut, ready-to-serve fruits and vegetables.

  • Assortment of H-E-B brand products such as H-E-B Organics, Central Market, Hill Country Fare, as well as major national brands.

     

  • A wide variety of fresh in-store cut meat, chicken, and seafood options, including the famous $20 bundle boxes.

     

  • Bakery featuring in-store made tortillas, bolillos, pastries, and breads.

     

  • Sushiya offering handmade sushi selections made in-store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls, teriyaki, and more.

     

  • H-E-B Meal Simple selection with fresh, convenient chef-inspired meals.
  • Expansive Latino cheese selection.

     

  • Selections in grocery and general merchandise departments including dairy, frozen foods, seasonal items, cookware, small appliances, and toys.

  • Several options for nutritional supplements, medications, personal hygiene, and baby essentials.

With this 55,000-square-foot store, the company continues its commitment to invest in communities across Texas and support the local economy by providing jobs and career opportunities. For this new store, Joe V’s Smart Shop plans to hire and employ more than 200 Partners.

In honor of the grand opening and inspired by the company’s spirit of giving, Joe V’s Smart Shop announced gifts that total $30,000 to area schools and nonprofits with $10,000 each going to support Buckner International, Skyline High School in Dallas, Frank Guzick Elementary in Dallas.

Late last year, the company also began construction on a Joe V’s Smart Shop at the corner of W. Wheatland Rd. and Highway 67 at 4101 W. Wheatland Road. The store, which is slated to become the brand’s first store to open outside the Houston area, is expected to open summer 2024. Joe V’s Smart Shop launched in 2010 and currently employs more than 2,000 Partners across 10 stores in the Houston area.
