The store also serves communities such as Converse, Seguin, La Vernia, and other outlying areas
H-E-B officially opened its latest store to serve several communities in and around San Antonio’s far East Side. Located at the intersection of I-10 East and 1604, the store will also serve nearby communities of Converse, Seguin, La Vernia, and other outlying areas beyond San Antonio’s growing eastern edge.
Spanning more than 125,000 square feet, the I-10 East and 1604 H-E-B store features a True Texas BBQ Restaurant with indoor seating and drive-thru, a Pharmacy with drive-thru service, and the expansive product selection that H‑E‑B customers have come to expect. The store has more than 30 H‑E‑B Curbside parking spaces, making it easier than ever for customers to pick up their groceries from the comfort of their vehicle. Home Delivery service also makes it possible to have your groceries delivered to your doorstep in a convenient and quick way, especially with H‑E‑B Now, one hour delivery for $9.95.
In anticipation of the grand opening, more than 1,000 customers lined up outside, waiting for the doors to open for the first time.

The store is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The store’s General Manager, Will Tate, grew up in the area and sees the store as his opportunity to give back to the community that shaped him.
“Our Partners and I want to ensure that this store meets the needs of this growing community,” Tate said. “Many of us are from this area, and it is important to us that our customers feel taken care of when they walk through our front doors.”

Inside and out, the new store reflects the unique character of the surrounding community, incorporating Texas limestone with horizontal stone accents and warm wood-tone metal paneling. The store design also emphasizes numerous windows for increased natural light and several energy efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting.
Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H‑E‑B donated $40,000 to local foundations that invest in the community’s youth and future leaders. To commemorate the store’s grand opening, H‑E‑B gifted $10,000 each to the Judson ISD Education Foundation, the East Central ISD Education Foundation, the Marion ISD Education Foundation, and the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Education Foundation.
As a multi-format retailer, H‑E‑B operates Joe V’s Smart Shop and Central Market stores throughout Texas, as well as Mi Tienda store formats in Houston. H‑E‑B also owns Favor Delivery, a fast and convenient delivery service that serves cities across the state.
