The store features a Pharmacy with drive-thru service and both Curbside and Home delivery options.
H-E-B officially opened its third store in San Marcos as the retailer continues to invest and grow in the San Marcos community. Located at I-35 and McCarty Lane, the new H-E-B store includes the city’s first True Texas BBQ restaurant, which offers all-natural meats, Texas-style sides, and an indoor seating area. More than 1,000 members of the San Marcos community attended the store’s grand opening on Wednesday morning, and the first customers in line arrived as early as 6 p.m. the day before.
The 114,000-square foot store boasts an expansive product selection along with services that include a Pharmacy with drive-thru, Curbside with dedicated parking spaces and Home Delivery, allowing customers to shop online and pick up orders at the store or schedule delivery to their homes.
“This new store allows us to better serve our customers in the San Marcos community. They have shown their support for many years, and our Partners are eager to serve our customers with the quality service and expansive product selections they expect from H-E-B,” said Cathy Harm, H-E-B Senior Vice President, Central Texas Region.
A first for the San Marcos community, the store will also include a True Texas BBQ restaurant with indoor seating and drive-thru service. True Texas BBQ serves all-natural meats that are smoked in-house over Texas oak wood as well as sides such as brisket beans, creamed corn, homestyle potato salad and more. H-E-B operates more than 50 True Texas BBQ locations across the state.
As part of its ongoing True Texas Tunes programming and partnership with H.O.M.E., the new store will feature musical entertainment in the True Texas BBQ restaurant every 2nd Saturday of the month from 11am – 1 pm beginning in November.

- Customers can get additional savings by shopping with the H-E-B Debit Card and H-E-B Credit Card, which gives 5% cash back on qualifying H-E-B brand products as well as other perks and benefits
There also are plans to open a convenience store with fuel station and car wash at the location. At the time of the store’s grand opening, work on the convenience store is still underway. It is expected to open in Spring 2027.
Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H‑E‑B donated $30,000 to local organizations that serve the San Marcos community. To commemorate the store’s grand opening, H-E-B gifted $10,000 each to San Marcos Education Foundation, Hays County Food Bank, and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment.
Additionally, H-E-B, through its Trees for Texans initiative, is partnering with Texan by Nature to provide $20,000 in trees and irrigation support to San Marcos High School. The project will enhance campus green space, provide shade, and create lasting benefits for students and the community. Trees are scheduled for planting in Spring 2027.
