H-E-B Plano now open

As H-E-B continues to expand across Texas, the retailer opened three stores on the same day, which includes locations in Plano and two in the Houston area.

Continuing its drive into the DFW area, H-E-B officially opened its store in Plano, introducing the vibrant community to a shopping destination with a commitment to deliver unsurpassed freshness and quality at H-E-B’s everyday low prices. The 118,000-square-foot H-E-B Plano store joins the recently opened Frisco H-E-B and six Central Market locations that have been serving DFW shoppers for more than two decades.

Filled with state-of-the-art amenities and innovations that H-E-B is known for, the Plano store has distinctive features such as a True Texas BBQ, H-E-B’s lauded barbecue restaurant that was named best barbecue chain in Texas by Texas Monthly and a top barbecue chain in the nation by Thrillist; full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru; and Home by H-E-B home décor department featuring furniture, woven textiles, and accent pieces from the Haven + Key and Texas Proud collections.

The store also offers H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery, which allows customers to place orders online for pickup at the store or home delivery. These exciting digital services give customers choices on how they shop, pay for, and receive their products.

“This endeavor into the DFW Metroplex has been a company-wide passion project,” said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President North West Food Drug. “At H-E-B, our goal is quite simple, we want to serve the community. Partners are the heart of our company and are committed to providing a fun, exciting shopping experience for Plano customers.”

As the company grows its footprint across Texas, the Plano location is one of three stores that the retailer opened on the same day. In the Houston area, the company also opened H-E-B stores, its flagship format, in Magnolia and Willis. At a combined nearly 220,000 square feet in total, the store openings mark the first location in Willis, which is a community north of Houston, and the second in Magnolia, a city northwest of Houston.

“We are humbled by the Texas-sized welcome from the Frisco and Plano communities and grateful for the enthusiasm many new customers are showing to our Partners, who are working hard to provide the level of service H-E-B is known for,” said Stephen Butt, H-E-B Board Member and President – Central Market Division. “Today is a history-making day for H-E-B as we continue to grow across Texas. In addition to the new Plano H-E-B, we’re also opening two new locations in the Houston area on the same day, adding to our strong network of stores.”

The facility will be located adjacent to the Plano store and is expected to become operational by mid-2023.

To help support rising demand of online shopping, the e-commerce fulfillment centers stock goods found in stores, which are used to satisfy Curbside and Home Delivery orders. These facilities use various forms of automation to support Partners and allow for more capacity, better product availability, greater efficiency, and less aisle congestion for the in-store shopper. With these centers, H-E-B has grown supply chain capacity to help improve and power the expansion of its Curbside and Home Delivery services, which are available at more than 260 stores in Texas.

H-E-B is actively hiring for a range of full-time and part-time positions at the Plano e-commerce fulfillment center. These positions will interact with some of the most innovative technologies in the company to help fill customer orders. “There’s been a lot of thoughtful planning that’s gone into making this day a reality. For years, Central Market has served Plano as a great community partner providing for the needs of our city. I’m grateful that we are celebrating the addition of an H-E-B store in Plano,” said Kayci Prince, Plano Mayor Pro Tem.

Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H-E-B is passionately dedicated to its customers beyond its stores. In this spirit, H-E-B commemorated the store’s grand opening with a $10,000 donation to the Plano ISD Culinary Arts Program. When the store was announced last year, H-E-B gifted a total of $50,000 with donations of $10,000 each to Emily’s Place, My Friend’s House, Friday Nite Friends, The Storehouse, and North Texas Performing Arts. These donations build upon the company’s support of more than 150 non-profit organizations and public schools in the DFW Metroplex.

“We are excited to join our Plano Central Market family to strengthen our ties in this community,” said Patrick Gural, Plano Top Store Leader and 16-year H-E-B Partner. “H-E-B Partners will work hard to earn the confidence of many new shoppers. We look forward to serving Plano with the best of H-E-B, offering the products and services our customers have come to love and expect.”

A proud Texas company, H-E-B’s presence in the DFW Metroplex runs deep. H-E-B stores also serve communities near the Metroplex including Burleson, Hudson Oaks, Granbury, and Waxahachie. H-E-B’s fast and convenient Favor Delivery now serves 29 cities across the metro area. H-E-B also operates Joe V’s Smart Shop and Mi Tienda store formats in Texas.
