There will be a winner each day through June 9, for a total of 120 winners

With the launch of its Big Game commercial this year, H-E-B will celebrate 120 years of serving Texas by giving away an entire year’s worth of free groceries to 120 lucky Texans.

Set to a song featuring country music artist Aaron Watson, H-E-B’s Big Game commercial gives a tip of the hat to H-E-B’s deep roots in the Lone Star State and kicks-off a sweepstakes for 120 chances at winning free groceries for one year. Each day, from Feb. 10 through June 9, customers can automatically enter the sweepstakes by scanning the barcode in their My H-E-B mobile app at the register during checkout. There will be one winner chosen for each day, for a total of 120 winners.

“At H-E-B, we are deeply humbled and grateful to have served communities across Texas for 120 years,” said Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing. “We couldn’t have made it this far without the support of our amazing customers. As a people company with a mission to serve all Texans, we wanted to go big with this milestone, and what better way to do it than by celebrating our amazing customers who have been by our side throughout the years and continue to support us every day.”

Customers can enter using the same barcode they use to access coupons and offers in the My H‑E‑B mobile app. To access the barcode, customers need to download the My H-E-B mobile app and create an account. Customers who scan their barcode at the register will receive an automatic entry into the sweepstakes. Customers and mail-in entrants can enter once per day through June 9. Winners will be randomly selected and notified via email. H-E-B Partners and members of their immediate family and household are not eligible to win. No purchase necessary. See heb.com/giveaway for official rules, a complete prize description, and additional ways to enter.

H-E-B regularly releases commercials to air during the Big Game. In this year’s commercial, Aaron Watson takes the stage at Gruene Hall and sings an H-E-B-inspired tune that announces the sweepstakes. As the country artist sings his song, viewers catch glimpses of iconic Texas landscapes, H-E-B Partners in the community, and customers enjoying their favorite H-E-B brand products. The 60-second commercial will broadcast in key Texas markets where H-E-B operates. H-E-B’s award-winning marketing team worked with Dallas-based Plot Twist Creativity, the creative agency for the commercial, which is titled, “Lot’s to Love.”

With humble beginnings, H-E-B has proudly served Texans across the Lone Star State since 1905. Since then, the brand has become a household name, providing quality service and products with a commitment to community. Driven by the passion of its dedicated Partners, H-E-B was recently named the top grocery retailer in the U.S. for a third year in a row by consumer research firm dunnhumby.
