In remembrance of 9/11, H-E-B Partners support more than 960 fire, law enforcement, and EMS stations across the state
Thousands of H-E-B Partners will honor and celebrate first responders across Texas for their unyielding service to our communities as part of the company’s 20th Annual Helping Heroes initiative. Helping Heroes is a companywide initiative that reinforces H-E-B’s ongoing commitment to our brave emergency personnel and allows H-E-B Partners to give back and engage in a day of service at fire, law enforcement, and EMS stations across the state.
This year, more than 300 H-E-B stores and work locations adopted more than 960 fire, law enforcement, and EMS stations statewide. On the days leading up to and on September 11, more than 3,000 Partners will deliver meals and volunteer to help spruce up stations, rake leaves, wash the fire engines, and more. Additionally, H-E-B will provide adopted stations with H-E-B Meal Simple meals, snacks, pantry items, and other gifts for emergency personnel to enjoy.
“Each year, H-E-B’s Helping Heroes program offers Partners an opportunity to give back to courageous first responders across the state,” said Winell Herron, H-E-B Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs. “For two decades, this initiative has been a part of H-E-B’s longstanding commitment to support the brave Texans who serve our communities every day.”
This initiative recognizes September 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, paying tribute to those who risked and lost their lives during the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks.
Since 2005, H-E-B Partners have come together for this annual program, an important part of H-E-B’s ongoing support for emergency personnel in the more than 300 communities the company serves. Each year, H-E-B donates more than $700,000 to first responder initiatives throughout the state.
